When I was a little kid, I thought I was an alien. Well, maybe I didn’t actually believe I came from outer space, but I certainly liked to tell people I did. And who knows, I may have been just odd enough to convince some of them that it was true. In any case, regardless of my planet of origin, there’s always been a part of my mind that’s been firmly rooted in the fantastic, obsessed with things that only exist in imagination.
That obsession is really why I make art. Drawing and painting are tools used to lure my alien child fantasies into reality, trap them, and expose them to the world. Because without fantasy, and art to give it life, the world would be excruciatingly dull.
